Kangana Ranaut’s film is coming. Just this one line is enough to excite any viewer or critic. Both his fans and his critics wait for his films. One thing is very clear from this that Kangana is also included among the few stars of Hindi cinema whose mere name is enough to arouse curiosity for a film. I remember the pre-release screening of Kangana’s film ‘Woh Lamhe’ for which I specially reached Mumbai from Delhi on the invitation of its director Mohit Suri.

Tejas Review: After Tara Singh, now Tejas' mission is Pakistan, read how Kangana Ranaut's charisma helped

After the film, I had a long talk with its producer Mahesh Bhatt and then I told him only one thing that this actress has amazing self-confidence. It’s been about 16 years since that happened. There is a gap of 15 years between the two time lines on which the story of Kangana’s new film ‘Tejas’ moves forward simultaneously. One Tejas of that time and one Tejas of today.

Tejas Gill set out to eradicate gender discrimination

Tejas Gill is the name of that Indian Air Force officer, whose selection has been done by passing through any SSB (Staff Selection Board), and whichever board has checked his OLQs (Officer Like Qualities), it is certain that he is one of the best among its officers. Was the favorite cadet. That is why in the very first year of training, she is in a hurry to become a fighter pilot and she also shows this eagerness in the class.

Even her trainers never get tired of praising her that ‘If the work is easy then don’t give it to him, yes if no one else can do the mission then give it to Tejas only!’ The target of the film ‘Tejas’ is only one and that is to Kangana Ranaut. To be shown as a hero who can eliminate the discrimination between boys and girls. And, to create such an example that people say, ‘Why didn’t you send girls for this mission!’ It starts with rescuing a pilot from an island declared a no-go zone and ends with the dream that Tejas told his boyfriend a long time ago. Had given.

However, the audience has to wait for the end of the film to know this answer. The soul of the story is the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and its spirit is the body of Tejas, who returns to duty after losing everything.

one more mission pakistan

Writer and director Sarvesh Mevada say that he had narrated this story to Kangana in Hyderabad and after that in a conversation with the film’s producer Ronnie Screwvala, Kangana said yes to the film, but after watching the film, it seems that this film is 100 percent Kangana’s. It was written keeping this in mind and according to his image.

According to his actual age, his character at present is that of a Wing Commander and when the story goes back 15 years, the hard work done for ‘Daging’ is also clearly visible on the screen. Since director Vishal Bhardwaj’s film ‘Rangoon’, Kangana has not done any film with an established hero and this stubbornness of hers often becomes a hindrance in popularizing her films.

The story of ‘Tejas’ is not very special. Have to go to Pakistan and rescue an agent. The setup is also prepared from the beginning in the story so that Tejas can recognize the agent. Apart from Tejas, no one else is able to catch the message that the agent is sending through his eyes. While watching the aerial scenes, I kept remembering last year’s ‘Top Gun Maverick’, but at every such thought I had to explain to my heart that this is a desi film.

Average film in writing and direction

Looking at the film ‘Tejas’, it may seem that it is a film based on a real incident, but it is a fictional story in which its writer and director Sarvesh Mewada has taken complete liberty in filming. The film also takes a lot of time to dramatize the story and the portion of the film that deals with Tejas’s youth only hinders the pace of the film.

Although the film is less than two hours long and the pace of the film is good after the interval, but since the story indicates its end as soon as it begins, the development of the thrill in it is not gradual. The film has received good support from the Indian Air Force.

A retired Air Force officer has also supervised the film during its making, hence technically no service related irregularities are seen in the film. It is also important to keep in mind here that the film ‘Tejas’ is a film made on a limited budget, whose only objective is to strengthen the image of Kangana Ranaut, by nurturing which she can also be seen in active politics in future. Such films are suitable for a strong-willed woman whose thinking skills have become her identity. The film is average in writing and direction.

Kangana Ranaut’s acting stopped

Kangana Ranaut has worked very hard in terms of acting in the film ‘Tejas’. The only problem is that this hard work is now visible on screen. Kangana’s artificiality is clearly visible in her laughter when her friend opens up about maintaining a relationship with two boyfriends at the same time and when Kangana insists on taking herself on a mission as a wing commander, those scenes are also a reflection of Kangana’s hard work. Despite this, they do not prove to be effective.

One reason for this is that Sarvesh might not have been able to ask for retakes of some scenes even if he wanted to. And, the second reason is that whenever Kangana starts showing emotions on her face, the noisy background music of the film diverts the audience’s attention from the acting. The acting of Kangana’s partner Anshul Chauhan in this film is worth noting.

She looks absolutely natural and perfect for her character. Looking at Ashish Vidyarthi, it seems that he is growing old just to play the role of a powerful officer. Mohan Agashe appears in only one scene as the Prime Minister of the country and is successful in making his mark. Varun Mitra’s work as a stage singer is good.

Special effects became the weak link

Another drawback of the film ‘Tejas’ is its special effects. In its very first scene, this film takes the help of special effects and at the same time establishes such a mood in the audience in which their thrill does not increase after seeing whatever aerial stunts the artistes perform. Showing bloodshed in the Ram temple being built in Ayodhya even before its inauguration did not have a good effect. The cinematography of the film is simple.
